The mind of the youth is like a window from which ideas flow out. The ideas that flow out from it are just a replica of what it is fed with. The high rate of ugly behaviour among the youth today cannot be overemphasized. One may imagine the sources of these incessant offensive acts. The rate of pornographic materials such as video, magazines, etc have to a greater extent contributed to this.

Pornographic movies or films, in particular, abound in our society. Youth are exposed to them mindless of their adverse and cataclysmic effect on them

Firstly, the huge disadvantage it can cause to morality is nothing to write home about.  After feeding oneself with such prurient things, one must be aroused to practice what one saw. As a result, one begins to have an arousal to have sex. This involves many sexual apparitions, such as masturbation, sadism and worse still sophisms or lesbianism and most of all homosexuality.

            Furthermore, a boy glued to filthy movies surely becomes ardent to satisfy his desire. The mind is the cardinal region for reflection. It is like a spring from which ideas flow out. The Bible says that “that which comes from within defiles a man”. When a pornography addict sits to reflect, the mind succeeds in reproducing that which it had been fed with like nudity, romancing, sex, kissing, what have you? Such a person has been rendered carnal.

            Finally, pornographic movies or films have destroyed our women’s destiny, turning them into prostitutes. It facilitates the spread of various venereal diseases. For in prostitution, if unwanted pregnancy surfaces and in a bid to remove it through abortion or contraception, death occurs it cripples the labour force of the country. Youths should understand that all that glitters is not gold.

            The government at large should ban all films interwoven with nude and profane pictures. The parents should keep guard over such indecent films because the youths are the product of what they see and hear. A stitch in time saves nine should be the watchword.
